Narrative (in second person):

Roy is a natural when it comes to boating and fishing. When he was a young teen his friends called him “Mud Puddle”; for they said he could catch a fish out of one. Roy started fishing/working on boats out of the Destin, Florida Charter Boat docks as a 13 year old deck-hand. Not only was he earning some money for school clothes, but fishing kept him occupied during the Summer school holiday. Roy’s natural ability and enthusiasm made him a much sought after young man among the Charter Boat Captain’s.
Roy knew that he wanted to make a lifelong career in the fishing industry, but he also knew that he needed a sense of business in order to be successful. After graduating High School, Roy went to work in his family business and was responsible for selling, delivering and billing of products that they manufactured. He continued his fishing career too, by working on boats over weekends and holidays. During the early 1980’s Roy worked as a mate on “Marlin Magazine’s” 54’ Bertram the “Marlin Darlin” and fished tournaments in Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. More than 20 years later and on going, Roy has been (and still is) a force in the Big Game Fishing World. He has put his mark on many Bluewater Tournaments including recently (2006) captaining a sportfishing boat that competed in ESPN II’s Billfish Extreme Release League. The BXRL pitted the top ten Boat Teams in the world against each other for seven televised tournaments. Roy captained the 67’ Bertram “Britney Jean” to a win in the St. Martin leg of the series and a check for $100,000. Now, after 5 years of living and fishing in the Caribbean, and traveling for more than 10,000 miles in 2006.
