Born and raised in Tidewater. I have been fishing the lower Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries for over 25 years. I also have a modest amount of offshore experience, probably around 350 to 400 trips to the Stream. Some good, some bad. After being in sales for the last ten years and fishing every waking hour and then some from here to Florida I have been blessed by an opportunity to find a job in the fishing industry. My only experience fishing professionally was a brief three month jaunt on a snail chasing boat(conch boat) in the dead of winter, and filling in as a mate both inshore and offshore on occasion over the years. I am a quick learner and have a true thirst for knowledge when it comes to fishing. As of late I have decided to get my ticket so I can make myself available to move boats and/or potentially Captain a fishing Charter boat in the distant future. For now I want to learn more while studying for my Captain's liscense. Ideally I would like to find a Captain in need of a responsible mate who is willing to teach and allow me to log some hours behind the wheel. If anyone knows of a mate opportunity I would love to talk. Perhaps a fill in for the time being. I am a very experienced inshore fisherman. While no expert offshore, I am no stranger to offshore fishing either. I would appreciate any opportunities from here to Hatteras Inlet, perhaps Moorehead City as a fill in for a few months. Primarily looking to get a job out of Rudee, Lynnhaven, or Little Creek Inlet simply due to proximity. Currently residing in Chesapeake, but, willing to re-locate when the right gig comes along. I can throw a cast net alongside the best of them and catch any fish that swims. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Please PM or E-mail for contact information. I would also be willing to help with marketing and booking trips/charters for my potential employer on the laydays and in the evenings.
