You're Kidding, Right??

No, I'm not. Wish I were. I think that whale flipping Chumtini the bird must have gotten around some out there East of Chatham on Sunday 'cause he did it to me but in a much more rude manner.

Left the house at 0000 to trailer to Bass River Ramp to be at the tuna grounds at 0540. Lotsa life, high hopes from reports of the bite picking up. Three hours later I watch as a tuna crushes the right outrigger bar, leaving a hole in the ocean and singing line off the fairly tight 50w. Now this is why we come all the way out here!!

100 Yards out, he starts another run equally as impressive. My mate was napping up in the bow of the CC and springs to action at the sound of the sweet music (and my yelling).

Just then, out of nowhere, Flipper The Humpback comes flying out of the air and breaches right between the screaming fish and the boat. No, no, no, no, not there, not now! Noooooo!!

Ping. And charlie was gone! I stood there beside myself with utter disbelief. Cut off by a freakin' whale! Arrrrgh!

As we trolled for another 4 hours looking for luv, all I could do was mutter to myself, "A freakin' whale!".
I think that this get chalked up to the "S___t Happens" category, but I am not too sure about that. . . .
