We bought Sirius weather (and a bigger boat) after nearly dying TWICE last year coming back from the SWC. Both times by the time we saw the squall line it was too late.

Nothing like a microburst in a 22 center console 1/4 off the GH jetties to get your blood flowing.

Best Catch: 550 lb bluefin on a handline
I have been stuck out there a couple times as well. It can be very scary. Now I have the weather satellite, which is great to track storms forming over land and you know to head for home. Being able to see the lightning strikes and which cells they are in is very good. It is the best $500 you will ever spend with all these storms popping up daily. When you can see it on the horizon you are too late.

Questions...If you do get stuck do you shut down and wait it out or is it best to keep trying to run around the cell and keep moving? I am hoping this doesn't happen again, but I am sure others will run into this.

After hearing about the guy in Orleans I feel a little lucky.

This past Friday AM....we had huge storms threatening the MA-NH-Maine coast....and my little Ray C80 system lit up showing exactly where the trouble spots were....

I can't believe how accurate and detailed it is....
While running back in on Saturday from shark fishing there were a couple of T- storms around that I saw on the sat weather. I zoomed out on my radar and it was amazing how accurate it was. We just skirted around them and all was good.

They sure are making it much easier for us out there with the new electronics.

Be safe everybody.

GIANTFAN~ awesome feature, I'm just getting used to it now.....I found the "200 mile" view gave me plenty of viewage......

Anybody else? What distance is the best to view from

Any other features of Sirius weather we should know about?

I haven't checked out the sea surface temps- anybody??
