wonderful fish SE of ACK

lovely day yesterday 40 miles SE of ACK past the hole in the ocean where 44018 used to live. We came home with a cookie cutter 50" fish but the really special moment and great fish was a massive 36" bluefin tuna which put up a heck of a battle on a 50; peeling yards of line at a time before we manged to control and release it at boatside.

Funny you should mention that area.

When we came through there yesterday, it seemed awfully fishy. There were birds working all over the water. Seemed cold though. If I recall the temperature was only reading 60 degrees.

If I wasn't pressed for time and low on fuel, I would have dropped in for a bit.

I guess you confirmed my suspicions.

pretty sure we saw you steam by a few miles SE of the pin; dodge a couple draggers and head north. I couldn't catch you at 25 knots

I was doing 31 knts.

larry, that water looked like it was holding fish. The next time I see that again I'm dropping in.

we got 2 fish; saw many more and heard of another 6 or 8 caught.

The one we kept had herring and a couple small butterfish in its stomach.

I would say there are fish there
