take stock in the earlier replies.....with all the weather that's been happening including some impending weather...think and think again.

If there has been a sweet high pressure over the area for some time and the bouy forecast and most importantly the wind forecast are all favorable ....read big fat window here not some sliver that will nevah happen then perhaps..but there's plenty of fish you will run over between sandwich and the cat.....plan and plan some more....if your crew isn't patient enough or expierenced enough for tuna fishing perhaps something else may be better to all involved...just a thought

In any event best of luck to you in your quest

BTW, become familiar with fishweather.com.....wind model forecasts for cape cod. It is very accurate along with bouey data. This weekend would be a dangerous timeframe for you to consider that safari.

Sorry if I sound like a $#@$, but I would rather you think that and give pause to your thoughts on Wild Cat. If you take stock in the risks and benefits and then decide to go then at least you have weighed them carefully.
I said the same thing but someone else ran to the canyons in a 23... shows how much I know.

I have a wildcat experience in a strong NW and it SUCKED.

Decided to either wait for a better weather window to hit wildcat or fish the bank Sunday or Monday. Fishing the canyon in 23 footer is not the safest thing in the word to be doing but if you plan properly and take, every safety precaution you can it is most likely no more risky than skydiving or car racing. Thank you all for your replies the positive and the negative because they all help to make the decision to make a trip or not.

Im pretty sure this is the same guy that runs that boat to the canyons??! use the same sense of safety and caution you use for those trips, and you'll be fine. Its a whole lot shorter than the trip to the edge! If your trailering, you could shorten the trip by launching out of GH or Scituate, and if you have a sw wind on the ride home, the rides alot better heading in that direction then straight into a head sea back to the canal. I think its about 34-36 miles from the end of the canal. Have fun and post up the report!
