It seems that ever since Irene, things around Mid-Coast Maine have gone cold. Due to the decent day yesterday with calm seas and low wind (which seems to be rare this summer in Maine waters) we decided to spend the day on the drift. THINGS CAME TO LIFE just before the late afternoon low tide...whales everywhere, porpoise/dolphins EVERYWHERE, huge flocks of birds dive-bombing the water in six different spots (one of which was right around/above our boat, big flocks of birds sitting on the water here and there as well in waiting, thick bait and bait balls on the sounder, livies at different depths & fresh chunks going in...everyone was at the feast except charlie. What gives?!? Anyone having any luck in the mid-coast area/kettle???
