Have you not been paying attention son, keep tuna fishing and sooner or later a mako will gladly accept your gracious sushi offering! Just better be ready for him when the opportunity is there.
On a serious note, don't give up, they're not really that easy of a fish to find and catch unless you've got 30 years experience fishing them, and then it still gets frustrating. Good luck. Ed- |

A makos main diet consists of something like 75-80% bluefish! Other than that, they love anything oily, bloody and smelly. False albies, bonito, yellowfin tuna, BLUEFIN TUNA! Don't misunderstand me, they are the ultimate predator and will eat just about anything that catches their eye but the above info should give you a good start. And I can't stress enough that the bait has to be fresh. As in caught that day or within a day! Good luck.

We found mako love east of the bank last week. tuna were eating, then we switched to sharkin. Didnt take long, 2 porbeagles hung around for a few minutes then we hooked up a nice 400lber, not the greatest of battles, but great on the grill!!
