I live in PA and I'm looking for something next fall. It's either pollock fishing in NE or tilefish and deep-dropping in VA beach in October/November. Please tell me the pollock fishing is better.

Pollack fishing has been decent the entire season here in the GOM. However, right now the recent reports from Eastmans out of Seabrook NH are pretty amazing.
I am hearing the same thing George. Pollock fishing right now is stupid, and the haddock is still pretty good to.
if you're looking to come groundfishing, spring is the time to do it. mid april through the end of may is off the wall for a mized bag of groundfish. cod, haddock, pollack, and the occasional wolfie.
Gmoney, up until this point, you would be right.
As George has said, the cod regs are looking pretty dicey (at best) for the spring. Also you aren't allowed to keep wolf fish anymore ever.
The Pollock fishing is better now, than it is in the spring, especially if you are basically targeting purely pollock.
PA Monger - Spring or fall works great. A trip planned for early May on Stelwaggen
can't be a loser . If the cod rules get draconian, there will be a whole bunch of charter boats looking for customers like you!!
How can doggies be "endangered"? 4 years ago in the Race(Long Island Sound)in the late spring there were literaly hundreds on the surface. You could'nt troll with out dinging'em with your wheels. They're everywhere you fish.
