    I second this. Not the easiest, most fluent read, but an excellent anthropological account of the fishery with enough biological detail to cover a 100 series college curriculum.

    Two great reads. The Jarvis book is my all-time BFT favorite, if for no other reason than for the chapter about a pod of orca corraling a huge school of tuna into P-Town Harbor and literally slaughtering them.

    Roger was the band teacher at Duxbury High and took some of his students under his wing and they all learned to tuna fish together.
    Nowadays the teacher would be arrested.

    Very cool: I didn't know that.

    I also sadly agree on how that would be viewed today.
