what will be the target 27-59 or over 72

For me it will be the 27-59 inch fish, what I have learned from catching this size fish is you just have to adjust your gear according to the size of the fish. The big one will be lure size IE lures 11 and under, Line a little lighter on the florocarbon, this change may still make fishing a bit more enjoyable as far as the 72 inch fish I am not one for hour after hour of trolling squid bars or watching a kite, just my two cents what say you???????????????

I think you have much better odds at 73in + based on the fish that have been out there so far this season

It's not rocket science. Whenever we got back to trolling 8 or 9 inch squids, our hookup ratio goes way down but we get get smaller fish on those hookups and more bluefish.

No brainer for me. I drag 9" squids and run light tackle off Chatham. 27-59" fish are ideal for me.

what's nice about being analog in the digital age is that I can set the boat bypass filters via knob and have the boat only raise up certain classes of fish. I typically try to set it at 60-65" anyways except in Oct where I dial in 68-72".

This year I'll just crank it down a hair to 52-56" and be all set.

How about just go fishing and catch what you catch? Keep what you can legaly keep and relaese the others unharmed. I mean it is what it is right? These fish as far as I have seen so far are swimming in mixed schools. I have seen 30 pounders swimming side by side with 300 pounders already this season. If you want to pick and choose the size of the fish you get you may want to try the fish market. In fact I bet you they can get within an ounce or two of the size you want.

That is probably why I can never remember how to engage/disengage your auto-pilot.
