There is a very easy way to deal with these guy's. Go to your User CP and edit your ignore list and add them to your ignore list and none of their posts will show up in any thread. Done deal. It isn't perfect but if everyone does it then nobody reads their posts and nothing gets repsonded to. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Sleeping dog...get real. You're a buffooon. Why were you sleeping? Why were you checking in? Like people have too be concerned with waking up your ass. You don't learn anything (I don't learn much either but whatever it's entertainment) so why even bother? Go chase chicks or spend time with your family or drink or whatever because it has to be more productive to you than this site. Develop your own giant site and talk amongst your "giant" buddies. Now before you flip out and call me a rat killer I have a commercial permit and release small fish. I agree with your thoughts about small fish being killed does not help the fishery as they have not spawned but these guys are playing by the rules they are given as bad as the rules are. Why the f*ck don't you pester NMFS people day and night? Email them constantly. Call them morons. All the shit you do to this friggin charter dude on the Tammy Rose. Maybe because you are ball-less and the government types would track your sh*t down and slap a restraining order on you. The problem is the rules not the guys playing by the rules. How many friggin giants have you caught this summer? If it's more than the Tammy Rose dude and you have been pounding it all summer and working your ass off than God bless you but once again why are you pestering AAA guys? Why aren't you out there right now hammering them? Staying out overnight in 17kt winds getting yourself in position for the morning bite. Now if you have been fishing on a lobster boat or a dragger all summer and just waiting for the giants to come down from Canada and be completely on the feed and rip cod out of gillnets (how the guys realized the giants were off of chatham last November by the way) then I'm not very impressed. Anyone can toss cod guts or a live cod or a properly rigged mackerel in that current and hook giants commiting suicide. Would you like me to walk everyone on this site through how to properly rig a mack to catch November giants? Someone showed you. You didn't come up with it. Point is shut the f*ck up and go about your business. Or like that other guy said let's have a spelling contest. |

That post is what this thread needed... Thanks... I pointed out that we're on our own to police this site and though bashing is frowned on a good solid well thought out ass whoopin is in order from time to time. Again... Walking away is a win for the keyboard bullies... That kind of stand up post is what they need. Not just on the thread but everyone should join in behind in PM form to let the sentiment be known to those that don't abide by the rules and respect the site for what it is. Now if you happen to see Wireman crawl up my scuppers or talk dirty in a thread about my daughter, do me a favor and show him that same kind of love...

the definition of "sport"
This old salt finds some humor in the fact that many of you define "sport" as dragging the same squid bars around and around, in the same places, weekend after weekend, catching the same juvenile fish. Kind of like shooting a fawn on a salt lick. Every picture is basically the same. Exciting! Look at me, and the prespawn fish I slaughtered, over and over and over again. it does get a bit redundant, no? It's basically the same story over and over and over again. You call that sport, and you have every right to do that. And you are doing this on a public internet forum. guess what? its a big internet, with lots of participants.
There are other folks who might define sport as something entirely different. For example, take a guy like "Tuna Meltdown"...he started this thread. He talks about how he'll "do whatever he wants on his own boat", likes looking at pictures of himself on the internet, enjoys sticking the poon into juvie upon juvie, has "made friends" on the internet...etc etc. He vehemently objects to anyone having a different view of life, and especially life offshore, than the view he has. Clearly some folks find it "sporting" to take aim at a fellow like this and make sure that for every opinion he has...there is a valid counterpoint. And now he complains about the fact that he himself has become "sport". Put yourself out there, and someone is gonna take aim, guaranteed. Its the same for Eric- self promotion is a double edged sword. For as much joy and profit as you get killing juvenile fish...someone else gets a degree of pleasure poking you and your ilk with a stick. The only real solution to this is to quit paying the electric company....but then how would you see yourself on the internet? How would you continue to promote your sustainably questionable business and recreation? tough one to solve, in the eyes of this old salt. Used to be that fishermen were humble and private, and really only kept company with a small cadre of like-minded practitioners. Clearly the game has changed. |
