I went out on 5/16 on the Sashimi out of boothbay harbor Maine for some ground fishing the catching was good the keeping was not so good. There was a total 14 anglers on the boat I fished in the bow all day and with the jig most of the day switched over to bait at the end as that was catching the haddock and cusk. I pulled over the rail 20 to 30 cod in the 21" to 23.5" with out getting a keeper all day, 15 to 25 pollack from 10" to 15" and in one stop every time the jig hit bottom I would real up 2 to 3 short pollack one on the fly and one or two on the jig. I did get a red fish on the jig that went around 12" and latter got a cusk on bait as I was trying to get some fish to take home but the bite had dropped off. Capt. and mate did a great job and I had a lot of fun and meet some great people all and all it was a great day on the water I can not wait to get out again.JD
How long did you run out of BBharbor until you started fishing? Just wondering, I have a few friends that live in BBH and I'm thinking about trailering up there...
We were under way for 2 1/2 hours at 14 nots. I think we were some where around platts but I am not shore as it was a charter trip. Good luck. Tight lines and full totes JD
