Headn to either Veatch or Atlantis on wed-thu. Waiting on some quality SST images. Anyone heading out that wants to keep in touch?

Good luck! JSeas will be tied to the dock, since I will be visiting kids at college for the weekend. The RipDog will also be at the dock due to a wedding... Hopefully we get one more window next week.

wed night going to sh$$t so may have do do day trip, regardless looks like we still all set for wed
Has anyone been out that way the weather has been pretty poor very few reports from anywhere . If anyone has any intel at all it would be hugely appreciated looking to day trip it Weds also looks good until very late in the day.
working also. But - if I could go - day trip this time of year - I'd focus my time on the break at 50 fathoms as opposed to going to 100 fathoms or more - 2 hours less running, 2 hours more fish time and I'm sure if you get on it - there will be yellowfin somewhere on that line.
I get email reports from noreast.com....someone posted that he went canyon fishing out of Montauk on a Viking Fleet boat. They caught yellows, at least one sword, wahoo, etc., were fishing hydro.
The best canyon fishing I've ever had has always been right about now- that is, if the weather'll stay nice for more than one day. I'm holding out for an overnight trip....it's GOTTA get better at some point. The reports have been pretty encouraging, too. Although it looks like the shelf water won't hold yellowfin for much longer due to falling temps.
Two boats left B.I. yesterday for the edge. I suppose they'll be back in the next day or two, and we'll know more about the bite. I think one of them may have been headed for the bite that was inshore of the 'tales. The other one was going East.
As much as I would love to go myself, I'm gonna listen to my gut (and NOAA) and stay at the dock 'til the weather is JUST right.![]()
