    Wasque Shoal

I finally got the boat in the water. Fished all around MV and Nomans this week until the weather blew in. Inside Wasque fished the best. Stripers out numbered bluefish big time. Outgoing vs incoming didn't seem to matter. We trolled crystal minows with the occasional fly getting tossed in. I'd guess pretty much anything with a hook would work. Nice way to start the year off and boat ran great. Better late than never.

    Pimp My Rod

I did a little work on his new rod - A Shrek(tm) Rod. We pulled the mono off and replaced it with 20# super braid with a 5 foot top shot. We're going to try for a striper or bluefish. We tried the "Sponge Bob" pole last year, but the drag couldn't handle it. The "Shrek" has a superior drag system LOL! Plus, it's green.

I wonder what the IGFA record is for bluefish on the "Shrek"?

    New Shrek movie coming soon...
