Anyone catching anything in the warm eddy over the dump.. I know very little about what this type of warmish water near by means this late in season especially when its 68-70 degree water surrounded by much cooler water. Just curious

If you have the range, do yourself a favor by going all the way to the canyons. Last weeks bite was awesome as close as W Atlantis. Plenty of swords, big yellows, blue and white marlin and small mahis. The fish are still there in numbers as long as the weather cooperates.
Or wait a few more weeks for a new monster eddy rolling into hydro...
not going to get here before the cold rolls down. Today's shot shows the warm water receded out of the canyons - the Atlantis's ice cold; Fishtales holding a finger of 69 degree water and the warm stuff that pushed north a bare 67 degrees and now below the Dump.
If you believe long range October forecasts there is a Sunday/Monday window but after last weekend's "light and variable" - I think I need 45 or more to ride![]()
I'm sitting in wait watching.
First and last shot may be Sunday/Monday.
I'll bet the Fishtails are productive, but the real gold looks to be east and it's within reach, Just need the wind machine to shut off for a while.
Big mahi all over the dump in the 62 to 65 degree edge. Its tough to get a fly at them in the 20-30 knot winds and 4-5' seas but if your persistent and keep at it you'll find them.
Next August.
