Hi the fishing up here seems to be off form the conversations the fishermen are having with me when they come into my shop. the rain of the past few weeks seems to be the problem.too much water. But earlier this summer my husband took out a few trips for bass and pike and they all were catching.
I unfortunately was unable to sneak a day off for brook Trout fishing...i would have loved to go Bass fishing.....any fishing instead of running the shop.but alas someone has to tell the folks what lure to use. EGB's were big sellers this years as were the Lake Clear Wabblers. We even had a very people buying the Obama Lure...LOL. probably more to collect then to fish with though.
I did enjoy a day of garage sale shopping with my daughter and bought a rod and reel and a tackle box and a lure for my collection. the tackle box had Rapalas and alot of other lures in it including three older wooden lures. But the most useful item in the tackle box was a surprise to me a Revlon Full Jaw Nippers. While I was going through he box, I was thinking what red blooded fisherman would have a Revlon Nipper for nails in his or her box.............but for a big hang nail what use are they.when I came upon a few hooks with old tied knots on them.and I said.............."Wow those Revlon Nippers would sure cut that mess off the hooks".........and sure enough it did. I will never ever under estimate the fisherman or woman who uses all of the household products for fishing. So I happily will keep these babies close to me in the shop and out fishing.
My list of items to take anywhere I go keeps going........from my daughter who remembers where I parked the car and a magnifying lens and flash light even while garage sale shopping......now the Revlon Nippers will join the list. Take care folks and good luck fishing. Lori
