Seen them in the Sound and in CCB. Not an everyday thing, but is not all that uncommon..

We had a dead one wash up on the beach in West Falmouth last year. I didn't see it but my kids were all excited. One of the Dad's towed it out off the beach with a kayak, since it stunk. I saw the pictures but could not id the type...

My only experience with them has been of the floating dead stinky variety. Man they smell bad when they die.

"Typical?"- I think so. I believe they eat jelly fish which in turn like warmer water. A few years back the sound had a bunch.
