Have to wonder what was wrong with the fish.....it could have easily evaded the 2 guys...but did the tuna version of the curly shuffle. I would have kept it in a heartbeat.

I saw something like this back home once...we were down @ my grandfathers dock and this big arse bluefish was swiming in circles next to the boat...my grandfather grabbed his crab net and came up behind it and caught it without any fight. He and some of the old timers think it had something to do with the Navy bombing out in the middle of the bay. Who knows? OBTW...this was 20+ years ago...it's a kindler, gentler Navy now.

What if I find one laying on the beach? Can I take it? No rods, no poons, no gear. Just pick it up like a seashell and walk away.

It's definately illegal - but I think I would suck it up and take the fine if I got the chance to wrestle a free swimming tuna...

**Hmmm- a buddy of mine who fishes with me all the time....had a wicked cool discovery on Wells Beach, Maine a few years back

Just like this fish in the video...he found this 350 lb BFT skittering in the shallow water....like its been whacked 'dopie' by something...kind of like post-fight death spiral.....

Grabbed its tail and dragged him onto terra-firma~ fed the whole neighborhood for a week

    **Fin- see what you started?

Could this be related to.....some of those Nat-Geo specials on how Navy radar was *pinging* the shit out of whales and dolphins~ sending them into the shore- losing their way- death, etc.... not sure if this is similar
