Alloy, very possible, even tho I am not able to see the thermocline on my sounder. I use jigs that match the bait....55-150g...

Codfish Shark, I would definately get yourself a good tuna jigging setup. I bought 4 in the off season and can't wait to use them. In fact I got Chris MacDonald toying with the idea of giving up Sea Saws Commercial permit to chase Schoolies this year. I also heard rumors of guys using pogies for school bluefin on the bank and the back side of P-town. The guys using pogies were catching multiple fish a day and the average size was 125 pounds with a giant showing up once in a while. I'm just hoping that the fish show up early and stay late and show up in the same numbers as last year.

We'll get them to eat under the lights. We just got to make the water around the boat look like Fenway.

Mike and I talked about fishing for them at night at Stew's seminar. Makes sense to me. They are 24 hour eating machines.

I fish spinners with 65 lb braid tied to about 8 ft 60 lb Flourocarbon leader with an Albright. The knot works better when you double the braid first with a Spider hitch or bimini then tie the Albright with double line. I use twelve to 14 wraps with my braid Albright and dont have any problems holding. Good luck!

    Hey Guys,

I just stumbled onto this thread.

For those of use yet to graduate The triple surgons knot is hands down the fastest, easiest knot to tie for leader to mainline. It's SUPER strong, I've never had one let go on a fish.

Seth if you or Tunamelt or any of the others have specific questions shoot me an email and I can get into loads of detail. If it's too much to type we can swap numbers and talk it out on the phone. I'm slow this time of year and have no problem helping you guys out.

BTW, Seth whats the status on the boat? Same, New ???? Looking for a canyon buddy pretty soon

Meltdown, how are they fishing the pogies. Just livelining them or trolling them like a bally. Also, what is everyone using for a jigging setup?
