Thanks guys. It was just one of those days lol The bay was slow today...35 boats...6 or 7 fish. were out here now. back at it with charters all week. Chatham is red hot still on mediums.

On a not so bright note, the weather looks iffy for OCTUNAFEST. Were not sure what to do, but the web page will have info regarding cancellation. www.hyannistunafest.com/octunafest

    Damon,

We got spooled on a 50W Shimano reel about a week and a half ago in West Atlantis in less than 90 seconds. We had 450 yards of Moimoi Diamond on the reel. Of course, the other two 50W reels had 750 yards backing. So in re-processing the experience, we were discussing that incredible feat that some of the long range boats do by locking down the reel and attaching it to a second reel, then tossing the first reel overboard. Sounds like a good solution that could of helped us, but I don't have the cahones to toss a perfectly good $1000 set up into the drink at night, no matter how good the knots are!! You won that battle, and we lost ours. However they are all great stories!

well we fished the bay for a 2 day charter. What a difference a few days makes. The fish are there but not in the numbers they were and the fish that are around are very skittish after being pounded by a fleet of 100 plus boats for 3 days during the holiday weekend. We marked them good during slacks...fed them for 30 min today...trying all the tricks we had and doing things that were downright funny to get a bite. I think after the blow things will heat back up again. Lots of bait around. I will be bringing the boat around to Falmouth and then Hyannis to do charters out east next week for those interested. We will be trolling and chunking/drifiting live bait and will have live bait on hand. Call if youre interested as I will have split charters available. There are plenty of bigger fish down deep beneath the smaller fish and we will be targeting them in the late am/afternoon after trolling for a few hours. Good luck!
