    Transducer for furuno 585

    I just picked up a furuno fcv 585 and was thinking of getting a 1kw transducer. But will the 600w transducer work just as well. The 1kw works best from 200-2000ft. Here in the Northeast it isn't much deeper than 400ft. So i'm thinking I might not need a 1kw. What transducer are you using or would you use?
    Thanks Dan

    New B260 fo rfuruno

    Hi Dan;

    I have a brand new B260 1000w thru hull that was never installed. I have been using the 1000w inhul and decied to go with the thru hull. I was intending to install it into the keel but after having a glass guy do some research he advised me not to do it. The keel is only 5 inch wide and the transducer is 4 1/2. If you are interested let me know and i will let it got for a very good price.

    I have the same machine with the inhull 1000w with tank, works great either bass fishing or offshore.
