TIGHT FISHING TO BE EXPECTED, KEEP YOUR COOL, PLENTY FOR ALL

hi guys, four days to the opening! overlooking the southeast predicted for the weekend expect tight fishing on the usual haunts like the mussells, north shoals, south shoals, the rock pile, valley of the giants and more. once we limit out we will venture off to get away by ourselves. plenty of fish for everyone, be curtious and respect each other. best, capt. jim

LOL what is the proper distance on a drift? I say as long as I can't hit you with a 24oz jig you are far enough away. You got to be sneeky to hide from me Jim although I think you may be by yourself this weekend the weather looks like crap.

Hahahaha..... Up on Whaleback, snagging jigs with other boats was the norm. There were days last year where 20 feet between drifting boats was not uncommon. I honestly had a few times where I could have gaffed fish from other boats with a 10ft gaff.

The only time you know you are too close is when you hook your anchor into another boats rail ... Be curious to see how the PARTIAL closure changes things this year.

Ya I have run into a few unnamed older Charter outfits that like to fish like that down here, and for short fish to boot. They think they own everything cuz they call it working. Personaly the way the ground fishing has been the past few years i think they suck if they need to fish like that on the bank. There are alot of good charter guys out there that dont need fish like that. And there are alot of fish out there. I think it just shows how lazy and cheep some boats are.
