Thursday, SWC, SEC, PH?
Anyone going out there tomorrow, Thursday, November 18, 2009?
Jenny Lee, Ch 69
Probably launching out of Green Harbor. I called the harbormaster and he said is will be clear tomorrow, but may be clogged up at low tide for a few hours later in the week - due to the dredging.
Wish me luck. This will be Jenny's last tuna trip for the year. It's been a good year so far.

58" on a pink Shanka!!
Thursday was a GREAT day of fishing. Of course, it didn't last a long as I would have liked.
We launched out of GH with Animal and linesider69. I sleepily saw parmenj launch waay before me.
We went to the BE buoy and dropped in. About 60" later that 14" pink shanka on the long center rigger made an awesome sound - patink - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Everyone on the boat started swearing at me that it was my turn. Up to now, I have been at the pointy end, harpooned, gaffed etc.
We worked like a well oiled machine and sometime later, a nice 58" fish was boatside.
At somepoint in the day, we also had fish boiling within 20' of the boat. Linesider69 tossed in one of his home made large tuna mack poppers and came tight. He gave me the rod and I fought for a bit. Apparently, there is no yanking and short, sudden jerky moments in tuna fishing. Cause that Charlie parted company with us. At least he wasn't exhausted so should live to eat another day.
Finally, I have to thank Capt. Greg and Capt. Taylor Sears. Both of those guys have been so free and forthright with thier immense amount of knowledge. At the suggestion of Capt. Greg, the Jenny Lee will be undergoing some improvements this winter. also, thanks for the pink shanka that caught my last fish of the season.
Nice work Terrance a crew, you boys made it happen on a slow day. Very frustrating for us out there. We had fish up all around us in the AM and again on the afternoon slack, but couldn't come tight.
Regardless, it was one hell of a day on the water for November 19th...
