No more word yet on the ESA petition but I will keep you all posted on any developments. Sickening to see this coming up after dealing with CITES all winter and then finally getting close to being able to fish.

Chris we have a group of professionals who can have access to many university resources and to start $1000 to work on proving the ESA petition has no grounds. This could be the first project given to this group of Lawyers and Marine Science professionals to take on. if we get video from your spotters and our charter boats these people could use this for calculation and evidence. We all know that the CITES thing was about purse seining and "ranching" in the Med and ICCAT's failures. Does anyone really think they could get an ESA listing for Western Atlantic Bluefin? That sounds pretty far fetched. I think this is the "divide and conquer" kind of thing and it obviously got some of you commercial guys on the defensive.

Their tactic is this - to get everyone to be defensive and paranoid and guilty and to instigate infighting and arguing thus weakening the majority opinion. They don't solve problems, rather they create them out of thin air.
