Talking There's Sharks out there

We had a group of four on board for their first sharking expedition. With the requisite stop at Dockside for chum and chunk baits and a bunch of ice for the weekend we departed predawn for places to the south. We intentionally went to some lesser known spots as there was a tournament going on and other were pre-fishing for the monstah so we found a nice quite local to set shop.

Shortly after set up we had our fist visitor and our youngest angler got to meet his first shark a nice mako A bit of instruction and we had the fiesty guys beside us. Cappy Say looked at the young man and said;"you know nine out of ten peolple would kill this fish but he deserves to live and grow and be a contender someday what do you say? He agreed, and that mako is just a bit educated for now a nice pup in the 125 range. We said that move will bring us good mojo for the rest of the trip! It did

After a pause in the action the next youngest is introduced to a very large blue dog. He fought it well and it gave hem everything he wanted. Next was the charters brother in law and we have some pictures I will post tonight or tommorow of another very large blue dog...well we are three for four and it's time to head home. As Jay reels in the far bait we have purposely left the near bait in. I say to him; I could have sworn I saw a big one follow that bait......then the near rod goes off and he smiles and says; " Ithink you did and here it is! Corey hooked a beast of a blue dog and it gave him one great big fight for the end of the day. Four first timers on and all complete.
One beautiful mako pup released which gave us the good Karma for the trip.

Trip notes:
Found a dirty white boy tailing along the 25 fathom line but could not get him to eat..Lord I love the view from the tower

The SBFT bite in the nomal places to the south was not located today....

We did find some breaking bait and one huge mother of a mako free jumping just before days end but he never visited us...just as well it was a bigun

Pictures to follow later tonight or tomorrow

Remember to have fun out there

Seeker? More like Finder

Dude, you need to change the name of that boat to "Finder"...you always seem to find the fish...stripers, bft, sharks....what's next on the docket?
