Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
Thanksgiving '09 waterfowl/ Trout
Made the annual Thanksgiving trip to Park City for a bit of hunting and fishing with family. This year was colder than years past, but the mallard and goose hunting was exceptionally good, not to mention the trout fishing.
This 24" rainbow partially made up for not getting a tuna last week...
Wish I took more pictures, but here is what I ended up with.

Couldn't think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving on land.

Crab mustard is good
Very nice Jackson, now my question. Does this mean your getting outta all your heavy gear, selling off all your bars, putting the boat up on eBay and moving out there to become a fly-guide.
Please Jezus, we don't need another fly-guide!

Jackson,
Didn't know you were a Park City guy...
I spent a winter in Park City a long time ago. We had a blizzard that Thanksgiving weekend. The World Cup was in town as well for the kickoff of their season. The skiing was incredible!!! Thigh deep...
But if you can't ski, this looks like a very good alternative.

Mike:
Didn't know you were a Park City guy either. I have family living in Peoa and Park City, great excuse to get out there.
I do ski, although not as much as I once did due to tearing my ACL playing high school soccer... After a few days on the mountain I am hurting...
Typically (the last 3 years) there has been no snow on Thanksgiving and nothing has been open. I believe The Canyons and Park City both had a few runs open due to the storm last week coupled with the cold weather that allowed them to make some snow. Still not worth the lift ticket in my opinion, especially when there is some world class hunting that I typically don't get to experience.

"If at first you don't succeed, don't try skydiving"
Very cool, I lived in Park City from 2000-2006. It was great to able to wake up ski for a few hours in the morning, then head over to the Middle Provo for a few hours to catch a midge or BWO hatch once it had warmed up. You could almost count on big storm over Thanksgiving, I remember one in Fall 2001 maybe we got 80 inches in a week, unreal skiing.
