    Thanks Seaker

Today was our maiden on our new to us boat and it started off good and then turned bad real quick. I guess you can say we didn't see the other buoy next to the Mass Maritime that we were suppose to go to. We shattered our prop and barely made it back to the launch. To make a long story short two of the 3 blades were gone the Skeg looked like a Killer whale dorsal fin in captivity mode and the shaft was bent !!! We hit rock and luckily we did not hit the hull !!!

Special thanks to Captain Vin for an excellent recommendation to Dick's Marine Shop. Mike McDonald is an honest guy and gave us some great tips!
Thanks Vin and we'll be back in about 3 weeks!!!

First day with the new boat

That's the saddest story I've heard all week!!! Hell, all month. The most important thing is everyone's OK and no rods were lost. You can always fix those bent and broken bits of metal. It could have quickly gone from bad to disasterous. The tide and currents on the west end can be snotty.

Nice Vin. Your a class act!

Don't feel bad, I run that narrow channel all the time and even with running it daily you still can have issues there.

FWIW, Mike MacDonald and the Head Wrench Andre' at Dick's are the only guys that touch the new Contender. That shop and all the guys that work there are TOP SHELF! Honest, Fast and Meticulous! Your in good hands there!

The only reason I haven't done the same as you.....is that Capt Vin was running my boat......and saying things like 'wait a second Young Grasshopper....before you try to rip across that bay.....???!!"

Like Riptide.....BEEN THERE - SEEN THAT......glad you're out of harms way and the tide was barreling you up the canal or into the MM ship!?

Thanks for making us feel better but I tell ya I'm still bumming. The good thing about it is that we will be getting the bottom painted as well!
