For the last 3 years my son and I have been bugging Eric at the Hook Up trying to figure out how to catch our first tuna. Today it happened! The 2 of us were fishing together and had never hooked, much less landed a BFT. We were fighting through the bluefish when suddenly the short rigger exploded. Tim fought the fish for close to an hour and we finally got a gaff into it ,then a tail rope and dragged it into the boat. It taped 71"......much bigger than we wanted for a first try, but we'll take it.
Eric has been nothing but patient with us and given us more help than we could hope for. This was one of the most exciting days we've ever had!!! Thanks Eric! Bob
Congrats on popping your cherries That is one serious slob of a tuna for sure and to be your first one you should be very proud/happy they don't come easy.
Thanks for all the congrats...my boy is in the picture, he's 27...i'm an old timer! I grew up catching 6" brook trout in Vt. this is just a little more exciting! We caught him on a black squid bar that we put together ourself with components from the Hook Up.
And Eric, we were hooked before...now we're obsessed!
