As was stated years ago... we apologize for that!! I was rigging in the pit and not watching, my father was below in the head and a goog was running the boat. When I looked up I noticed that the boats were on a course that would bring us together and this was not good. The guy running the boat couldn't believe that you wouldn't change course. He should have peeled off to the left but he didn't, He decided to go behind you (mistake I Know). You should have made some effort yourself, Maybe even start cranking your long, But you didn't. He had no idea that you could have had one out there THAT long... yes our mistake. I immediately dropped us into neutral to hope stop the carnage. Unfortunately we did run over you stinger on the LONG LONG rigger. We released your rig intact except we unclipped the stinger. We then unhooked the stinging from our rudder and yes we did return to you. On a flat calm day we are capable of backing the boat up to another with out causing any damage. All we wanted to do was apologize and return your stinger.
which when we did, you yelled a number of choice things at us, as well as maybe a few threats, throttled up and left the area and we never did get to return your stinger.
So our mistake for not watching the individual running the boat close enough. That was a tremendous mistake and learned from.
PM me with your address, I am fairly certain your stinger is still hanging up with the rest of the tackle.

I'm in the same boat, except the con is not the same. Can't afford the dockage, maintenance etc.. so I hitch rides to the canyons and work the pit
Tautog01's ride
1992 29 Blackfin
Lots of pro's. Decent speed
1.3nm/gal,
decent sea boat
good room down below, and layout.
Seems to raise Tuna. Marlin not so much, but I think thats our spread.
Cons:
Limited below deck storage save for a mahi coffin in the mid-deck. Means lots of coolers on the long trips.
First bigeye on the deck, with one of our regular crew, Murph on the right who was on the rod.

27 Nauset
Pros.
Unreal cockpit
Heavy as hell.
1 of 6 made that are bass boat style, only one with teak windshield.
A beast into a head on sea. Makes the trip back to Green Harbor in a hard SW wind comfy.
Super gas mileage. I burn about 7 gph with a 350 mercruiser if I keep it at the cruising speed. About $100 a day to run.
Really high bow with a mini pulpit makes casting to tuners very easy.
Cons:
Slow as death. 14 knot cruise.
Scary in a following sea. (I couldn't take everyone's word for it)
Big ass keel that makes fishing Duxbury flats for bass scary.
Did I mention slow.
No tuna door
Needs a hard top
Thanks, it would cruise at 18 no problem if I had some balls behind it. That's about it.
I was offered a Cat3208 with 1,500 hrs last week for $12k with running gear.
With a 6 month old in my life it was an amazing deal but it's not in the cards right now.
