tails sat- sun, our weak report

Woozy fished the tails sat-sun. we started up on the flats east of the tails at the 50 fathom line. got one 40 lb yft right away in 78 degrees on a rainbow bar. trolled the rest of the way to the edge east of the tails without anymore hits. found a pretty good sized fleet working the area. the area was alive with whales, birds, bait, and back flipping manta rays.

we worked the area hard with the rest of the fleet working a 79-82 degree temp break from 500-900 feet, for no more hits. from the looks of things, it was slow. radio chatter did have some people getting covered up. but i think overall it was slow. you either nailed them or didnt, we didnt.

we started the chunk right in same area. we had small yellowfin come into the chunks almost immediately. we hooked up and lost one in the first 15 mins, then that was it. nothing else for us on the rest of the chunk. started trolling before daybreak. trolled til 9 am, all over east of the tails then into the top of the tails, then on up the flats. only 1 more weak run-off.

overall, a very slow trip. we were happy we didnt get skunked, but not a great trip. also, everybody got seasick at some point, including people that supposedly never get sick. that is y our boat is called "woozy".

i need a bigger boat, and crew that doesnt get seasick!

We were in the same area but a little further south. Lots of life along the edge east of the Tails but only mahi in the box. Decided to run south along the east wall so we cut the corner to get there and there was some action along the edge in about 700'. We set-up there for the night and drifted NNE going 3 for 6 on the chunk. Got a couple more on the morning troll and missed a whitey that slashed 2 or 3 lures then a bally. There was a steep SE swell by the time we left.

I've had 1/2 my crew sick a couple times. Not fun
