Sorry for the late report. Was on vacation.
Fished Tues 7/28/09
Fishtails to the dip.
2 Skippies
4 YFT
1 white raised... only window shopping.
The water was grey 68-72 deg.
skippies were on cedar plugs in the wash
YFT all on spreader bars (1 on a 6" rainbow canyon runner bar and the other 3 were on Archer bars) 3rd and 4th wave back.
The white was looking at everything.
We left Montauk at 4 am and had a bumpy ride to the deep. We started at the tails and worked the deep for awhile. Had temp from 68-72. No sign of life in the deep so we hit the flats by the dip. Got to about 450 ft of water and got into some small YFT (saw a whale in the same location). Put two in the box and let two go. All fish were legal but the two we sent back were only 30"
We raised a white and he took a tour thru our spread but he didn't like anything we had to offer.
We also had a toothy critter come along and bite off the center string of a Canyon runner rainbow bar right where it attaches to the bar. Wahoo?????
Surfed our way back home on the back of some pretty big rollers.
The GTEK bar looked awesome but nothing came tight on it. It will be back in the spread next time as it sure did make a lot of commotion.
