I do not even know what you could do with swords as small as the majority of that catch, let alone that tiny one. Only partially good thing is that they are in the Med and not doing to this in the Atlantic...

I suppose it would be too much for ICCAT to consider some sort of minimum size for Swordfish as it reevaluates its policy for the Med and Atlantic ... maybe something like, "if you can pick it up by the eyes like a six-pack, it probably is a pre-spawner and should be released alive, if possible ..."
Italian boat, I think, but it doesn't really matter ... spineless and senseless EU regulations and nonexistent enforcement.
We're on the brink of real swordfish recovery and a slow return to their traditional summer grounds (a bunch were behind Nantucket this summer) - I saw stacks of juveniles 10-20lbs at various Italian fish markets last year, and it made me sick knowing the potential size of those fish ... seeing pups barely a few weeks old tossed on deck for pennies boils my blood ...

Disgusted with all parties involved here, their government for not having regulations in place or not enforcing if they are in place, them for their screw the future attitude and the buyers for making it possible for them to make money doing it! One would think that out of all those involved someone would have the Fu!?ing brains to say this is wrong! Just imagine what happens with other species.
