    SWEET DREAM

Last minute got a Call from Captain Bruce Sweet of Sweet Dream Charters
They had a person back out and a had an open seat

    http://www.sportfishingma.com/

Thanks Again Bruce and Crew for all the help getting me out to the grounds and get on fish.

That was my first trip jigging trip for some eaters New England style

After eating some fresh ones last night now I know why you guy’s spend hours bouncing the bottom for these tasty critters

What a crew, they were like a finely tuned machine rotating thru the cockpit for 6 hours it was non-stop fish coming over the rail

Of course the A for the day goes to Capt Bruce for keeping us on top of the fish

Last night we got to eat some fresh Cod and tonight we will bake some Haddock

I would say the we reached the max wind wave threshold for being able to hold bottom using drift socks and just plain old drifting ,it was a bit sporty but completely do-able

Got a chance to try out my new set-up the StCroix premier SWC 70HF with an Accurate 665N , this was like driving a Cadillac ,Smooth and Powerful , Though most of the fish were in the 10lb range the repeated retrieving in addition to the weight of the Jigs this combo made it easy work
Working the bottom this rod had great sensitivity and loaded with braid the hook sets were solid

Some of the Guy’s tried it out and I am curious to see what they thought
There were all types of long stiff rods designed for this type of deepwater jigging aboard, In addition to Leon and Bruce with both of them using there hand made rods

Here are some pics , I wish took more !!!!
Tuna Burner I must have 20 shot’s of your boat trying to get the new graphics but every time I shot the shutter would close late and the boat was down in the trough.

That was a pleasant surprise to see you there yesterday Chris! It was a great day for such marginal weather. And that new setup you've got is REALLY nice. Smooth and powerful. Can't wait to hear about how it handles some larger fish!

Hey Chris, could you e-mail those pics of my boat @ (tunastewart@yahoo.com). I thought it was you on the boat but was not 100% sure it was you. Nice outfit you were using. I gave my accurates and trevala combos a workout yesterday.

Nothing like fresh baked haddoc! Chris were you getting them on those butterflies?

Keep us updated on that St Croix...I have two spinners that are my go-to travel rods that I absolutely love and would love to hear how their jigging stuff works.

well done chris! how much water were you fishing in, that reel looked a little low, but it might have been the angle. nothing like the first fresh fish of the year.

and dan, the boat looks great. that tower is sick!

Shoe the rod i was using is not actually a "Jiggging rod" it did the job with ease ,it had nice sensitivity to easily tend bottom and had the lifting power of 30-50 rod the feature i like was how light it was

CJ we averaged 150 feet and yes the reel was light looking on the line
I put some old PP on it around 200 yds with some backing

I have a pair of these that i am going to load with JB very soon and going to use these reels from everything from Striped bass to Chunking for Tuna

Good fishing Chris, thanks for the report!
Your new bottom fishing outfits sound just about right for some NC bottom bouncing. make sure you bring 'em with you next time and we'll put 'em to work.
