    Welcome orleansstriper

Welcome to SFC! Nice to see another New Englander on the boards. There are a number of guys on the board here who can probably be able to get some info for you. Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself- where you fish, what you fish for, etc. Looking forward to the reports from down there!
    Again, welcome!

Welcome to the board... Your fishing for stripers off Chatham and not for TUNA!!!! Whats wrong with you.. (joking)

I am sure you will get some help, I cant help much around Chatham as its a bit too far for me. But give us alittle bit of what bait were you using? The tide? etc.

I have been catching most of my cape stripers the last 2 hours of the outgoing tide this year. And have switched from herring to fresh pogies chucks.

Hey guys, thanks for reading my thread, I'm always looking for a little help. I live in Orleans MA, and do most of my fishing in and around Orleans and Chatham. I have a 19 foot Grady that isn't the biggest boat out there but gets the job done. Most of my fishing is done around the Chatham break and about a mile or so out from the end of Nauset beach. While I don't regularly fish for tuna I have caught some off of Chatham with a friend and hope to do so again this summer. I usually prefer fishing with squid, eels, or even worms and the occasional storm shad or so. However, I just picked up some new trolling gear and will be doing alot of umbrella rigs and jigging in the very near future. I'd love to get some help/input on my fishing as I have only been fishing seriously for a few years. Finally, I am always looking for someone to fish with and wouldnt mind driving to meet up for a good day on the water. Thanks

Well you live in about the best spot there is to live- it sure is nice down there. There are lots of guys from the cape here on the board (and the rest of us wish we were from there ), so post up when you go out, take pictures, and you'll get the answers that you're looking for.

I would much rather fish off Chatham during the summer then up here . My goal is to spend a weekend out there hitting the tuna for a couple days

What kind of umbrella rigs you buy? They are extremely effective in rocky areas and if you can get deep enough to have them down. Also what kind of leader are you planning on using for them? I use 60lb wire with 15' of 60-80lb mono, and troll as slow as you can go.

Chatham area is all new to me. I have been wanting to try it out for a few years now.

Good luck, If I can help I will....
