Still some fish....

But not for me

The numbers of fish are getting thinner, much thinner, but definitely still around. Heard of several fish caught today, one on the troll with some bars, a jigged fish, and one or two on bait.....I was rotten from the start, and thats how we finished. had a few taunting me as I crossed the bank headed west in the late afternoon, boiled right under the bow or showed me a caudal fin here and there. FAC all day long, a very nice day to be out on the water. Water temps a steady 50 degrees or so, and gin clear. TONS of dogfish everywhere we went, did my best to cull the herd

One more shot tommorrow, but for me I hear a distant opera playing in the background, and getting louder by the minute.

Qualifier will be out there tomorrow for one last push. If nothing else, it should FAC and a great day on the water for late November...

Dom, you still launching out of GH? What's the deal with the dredging? Harbor Master tells me that the launch is open but the mouth of the harbor will be blocked at certain times, they just arn't sure when... Not sure what to make of that.

Hey Dom!

We missed you south of the Cape this season! Hopefully, you left a few to come back for next year. Great to see all the outstanding trips you've had this year. BTW, we installed the A6 underwater lights in the spring, and they made a big difference in our night times at the edge this summer. The kids loved watching baitfish in the lights too at night at the dock. We'll do one more shot for tautog & maybe bass at the Block before calling it a season.

Best regards,
SteveK

They arent near the narrows as of yet, still out near the mouth, so the western side of the breakwall has been passable. At low tide you may have an issue and need to wait, but they were saying that 2 weeks ago as well, no problems at all for launching there.

There are still fish to be had, I hope you have a better day tommorrow than we did today....but you are right awesome to be out in klate november with conditions like these!

Hey Steve!!

Great to hear from you. I never even thought about the edge this year....nah, I did, but couldnt pull myself away from the inshore tuna madness for anything more than a single run....

Hope you had a great year, and good fishing on your last couple of ventures out. I hope to get more time in south of the cape next year, lets hope it is a better year out on the edge next season!

have a great winter Steve, see you in the spring.

Dom

I can't bring myself to winterize quite yet. Still hoping for a hail mary shot at going out before month end. Tomorrow looks perfect, but can't do it. Been the story this summer for me & tuna - haven't been out after them since July , for one reason or another. Dom - sounds like you had a great season, and I've enjoyed hearing about it at least
