Stellwagon 5/5/07

I ran a total of about 80 miles today and got only two keeper haddock to our efforts. We left Scituate Harbor around 8:00 and zipped otu to the Southwest corner were I did well a week ago and got about 10 throw back cod there. After that I picked up and started north. I got some secrets from some friends, Thanks Vin. I stopped at midddle bank and dropped down on my way north becase I had heard there was a bite there early and again picked up a few short cod. I kept on heading north untill I saw the fleet on the northwest corner and set up shop right behind Seaker and right away my girlfriend and I both hooked up to our only two keeper haddock of the day. We finished out the day there picking away at Short cod and haddock with the occasional small cusk. Not many whales sighted but the bait was still there. Not sure were the larger fish are. All in all it was a great day on the water and we had alot of fun. Oh yeah NO DOGFISH!!!!!!!!!!!

The Date is wrong on the pictures I swear they are from today. I can't figure out how to change the date.

Sorry to hear about the slow day. That is a good question where are the bigger cod? I know today one of the party boats in RI did pretty well on coxes ledge with 2 fish in the 20's up to 25 and quite a few over 10 and a good amount of hake as well.

Great to see you guys out there already. Dan- it looks like your girl got a little freaked out by that cusk, good for her (and you) for being out there!

I don't know how it works down there, but this time of year a lot of guys up here fish the inside ledges- I guess they come into shallower water until the end of may (or so).

Anyone know if the stripers are showing up yet?

Anyone know if the stripers are showing up yet? Shoe I read on another site that Terry of Riptide caught a couple 24" fish in Buzzards Bay late last week. With this coming weeks highs in the 80's its going to bust wid open.

It's all Good

Dan I was trying to get a closer picture of your ride man sorry but the long distance shot still showcases how rough it was out there today

The middle picture is one of the "Man from Nantucket" who did fish hard. Man Capt. Ken and Jack flew over from the rock for this trip...how cool is that...and they inadvertantly left a plug off the cooler drain while the brand new repeat brand new rental car was in the parking lot at the marina...they ain't never getting the smell out

The last picture is our resident rocker who shall remain nameess this was after a night of drinkin and poor sleep eight hours of gettin jiggy widit and thirty minutes on the air guitar

Shoe...pogies are in, tog are in , squid are in, and twinkies plus a few keepah's are in...See you next weekend if your heading up from your delivery

Seaker Out!
