I agree! Let the moron hang! Maybe after he gets back to fishing he'll have done some research to learn a little more about the water in which he's fishing!

The fact that it was a "mistake" should not even be considered in what charges he may face. As stated, if you don't know what you are catching (and keeping) then you should not be out there fishing--in a tournament or not. This sets a dangerous precedent if they let this guy walk. There need to be consequences for stupidity.
My brother's co workers were there.
They said it 100% happened. They 100% led the guy out in handcuffs. I've been reading over the internet the last two days that it was a 1,600 lb fish...hahhahahah turns out it was 400.
They had a several blues around the boat. They all of a sudden disappeared and a big shark came up in their slick but they didn't hook up. They couldn't get the species of the shark but it was BIG.

i`ve seen some stupid things... with all the bad press just about every tourny gets from the tree huggers, we need to start policing our own morons alot better. if they cant id a fish from a picture, (in a tourny) they should not be allowed to fish for it.. i`ll give a guy 25 lbs if he thinks it makes the weight limit.. BUT if he thinks it weighs 250lbs and its as big as your leg.. ya get DQed.. for the rest of the tourny. if it the last day of the tourny.. you dont get to be ON a boat next year..
as always its the 10% that ruin everything, for everyone.
