    st barths

May be going for a vacation and just wondered if anyone has done any fishing from the shoreline? Or from any of the beaches.

Been going there for 10 years - never fished once and nobody I know has gone out. Go to Gouverneur beach and enjoy the "sights" in the day and Ti St Barth's at night and dance on the tables.

Tarpon and bones over at Saint-Jean and you can even get plenty of snook in downtown Gustavia.

Sounds like some good potentil. We will be staying in St, jean so thats good. Yellow jig heads you say? Like bucktails or tipped with something fishy? I was there before in coming into the harbor in Gustavia saw some monster tarpon. Thats what made me want to take a rod this time. Got to love those tasty snook too though!!

Small yellow bucktails catch everything in tropical waters, and are very versitle. near drop offs tip them and you'll grab small grouper and snapper, cast and retrieve for various jacks and such.

12lb test rod, 30lb leader and a 3/8oz jig and I'l a happy guy anywhere warm and tropical!

Thanks for the info. If I go then I will be sure to grap a bunch of yellow bucktails and poppers. Where we stayed before had a bunch of " fishy " looking spots nearby. Im sure that near to sundown would bring some good surface action out there.
