Well, I don't know about "it hasn't been done up here" yet. The canyon runner crew was saying they landed one on a daytime trip in the deep off the hudson early last year. The guy who said it spends the winter in FL working boats and goes for daytime swords on his down days.

He was discussing it at their seminar in newport. He also claimed a couple of the day head boats nabbed some on tile trips.

One interesting thing he said was that he was plagued by junk fish. He made 10 drops and caught something on every drop, but only the one sword. The rest were a mix of tilefish and other deep water bottom fish.

Expect to do a lot of reeling I guess. But if you get one, it will be a brute.
