Question Split ring connection on spinning gear?

O.K. rookie question here. Does anybody use a solid ring and split ring combo tied to a flouro leader to change lures quickly instead of retying every time you switch baits on your spinning setup?

I thought about all the recent talk/video/articles of big fish on spinning gear(yes I need to find a winter hobby), I was thinking since I have only one dedicated tuna spinning setup. When I want to change from a popper to soft plastic to hard plastic to vertical jigging I retie every time, simply tying to a solid ring and then using a split to connect to bait would simplify things.

Any experts out there want to chime in?

Im no expert but that is the set-up I use. Get yourself some decent split ring pliars and you will be all set.

I use a split ring too. I usually tie my leader to a barrel swivel and put a split ring on the other end. If I'm casting I attach the split ring right to the popper/stickbait, and if I want to switch it up to a jigging set up I'll add the solid ring to the split ring, attach the jig to the split and an assist hook to the solid. Not only the swap between lures but the swap between casting and jigging is fast when you do it that way.
