Its getting pretty close, in large part due to the fact that many of the bunches out there are mixed with fish in the 70s. And another thing that worries me is that a lot of people out there do not seem to be able to tell the difference between schools of big fish and schools of small fish. I have seen people trying to cast into bunches when the fish are all 90-100 inches. If a fish were hooked there no chance of it being landed. Its great to be able to cast but at some point it is not going to be a valid excuse that 'i cant cast a conventional'. I am not trying to take anything away from Jrs success- he got the fish in and that is awesome. But at some point this discussion has to happen (save it for the winter, I guess).

Definitely a time and a place for that discussion and I don't disagree TwoFin as we have discussed before.

Jr. I don't know you but have read a lot of posts by you and others discussing your talent and this definitely speaks to your abilities. You and your crew should be very proud to have landed such a large tuna on spin gear after such a protracted battle. Way to stay in the game and see it to it's end. I think it is just the balls that you younger guy's did this by yourselves and just shows that you don't have to be a crusty old salt to be in this game.

    Two Thumbs up buddy!!!!

Hell yeah buddy. You guys brought your A game this year. Glad you posted it. After that feat, I'll guess you'll be pulling out the 50s and 80s again End of debate. Congrats, well done!!

Good job. Heck of a battle.

some of my best days on the northern half of stellwagen and jefferies happened between 6 pm and sunset, after everyone leaves.

CC bay sometimes has a good top water bite that starts in the afternoon and can last till dark too.

for the original poster, nice work, thats a hack of a fish on spin gear. you mind telling me what type of rod you were using? didnt see that mentioned.
