I really do like the Seacraft boats and have heard tons of good things about them. They are just very hard to come by. If I could find an older hull with newer power I would jump on it in a second. It looks like we have plenty of smaller boat guys on here that have faith in there boats and that is what I want in mine. I don't want to be out there and if things kick up be wishing I had that extra 3 feet. I'm thinking of going new and buying a Northcoast 20 CC. The one they were raffling off at StriperFest this year was a great boat, just wish I was a little bit luckier and won it., (make things a lil easier). Any of you guys selling feel free to Pm me with what you have.

Northcoast makes a nice boat but I think you would be doing yourself a disservice by buying a new boat now. A short browse through the boats for sale on the HullTruth

    http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sale-17/

will show you that you can acquire some crazy nice boats for pretty short money right now that are practically new. I have seen several nice boats in the 22-24 ft. range rigged with twins no less for <40K. just do some looking if you are serious a new Northcoast is gong to cost you the same as a much bigger boat with everything already on it and bigger.

I agree with Mike. You can get a great used boat right now. I keep looking......I know.....it's a disease Check ebay. Here are a couple great examples: an almost new 23' Northcoast Hardtop (80 hours, i think)

or this super clean looking Sea Pro

    I bought a new boat

I tend to agree with the other. I purchased a new boat and had it built from scratch up. In the end, I have the boat of my dreams and it does, behaves and runs EXACTLY as I have designed.

That being said - a few things to consider.

    1. It took twice as long to complete despite having a contract in place. As it turns out, my attorneys don't know how to build a boat. They just know how to really piss off my boat builder and charge me for their service.

    2. It cost three (3) times as much as I budgeted. I am very lucky that I could afford to keep making additions to the "boat fund."

    3. I missed two (2) tuna seasons due to delays and several business opportunities as she works doubletime during marine wireless site surveys and installations.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have found a used boat, like my current one, and had it remodeled/upgraded. It might have taken just as long, but it would have been MUCH cheaper.

All this being said, I love the Jenny Lee. Everytime I board her, I just plain old feel good.

What do you think about this. I'm loving the price. I don't know much about boats or the reputations of certaint brands, but I'm pretty sure there's a following just like the ford vs. chevy crowd (I'm a chevy guy ) I just want to get everyone's two cents. I've been looking at newer boats as well and in my price range are Sea Foxes, I can't really find too much on them. Also have been looking at Mako's and spending my time at Bass Pro trying to get the price down on their 212. ( I found out their 10% discount for military members on gear doesn't apply to boats, )

Also any one who is selling or who knows of somebody selling in the price range of 20-30k let me know.

What do people suggest on a motor/motors, Evinrude vs. Suzuki vs. Mercury, I'm more of the 4 stroke person myself, but feel free to help me out with facts, I know you guys got plenty of time now that it's off season , for most of us at least
