Sharking south of MV
Headed out of Waquoit at 6 AM, picked up a few trout sized bluefish at Hedge Fence and a few more larger ones at the Hooter for baits and then headed south to Tyler's Gap for a day of sharking. Nice conditions, it was interesting that small crafts were up, it was quite comfortable in an easy 2 to 4 foot swell with a light chop out of the SE. Water temps around 70.5, oceantemp had it much cooler than that. Lines in around 9:30. Had a mako pup eat a live bluefish that was only slightly smaller that it was right off the bat, however the next bite was more than two hours later and of better quality. That turned out to be a 65 inch mako that ate a fresh bluefish head. We had a blue shark take a bonito rack about two hours after that, and we headed for the barn at 3. All in all, a slow day, but everybody was quite happy with mako steaks. Much to our surprise we did not see any tuna at all either on the way down or on the way back, since that cooler water has been holding a lot of tuna.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
FWIW - that 2-4 went to 3-4 just below the shoal and went to an honest 4-6 in the hot water at 50 fathoms. It was nasty there and I'm sure a lot worse further down.
I was astounded how the wind and sea picked up in a matter of 1/4 mile the second you went from 69 degree water to 73 degree water!

Thanks for that. Yeah, I noticed your report, the forecast scared us away from our original plan which was going to be doing what you did. I am looking at that bubble for later in the week, Wednesday it's looking like it's going to be out of the E but Friday is looking more favorable.
