Angry SHARK REPORT JUNE 30 2009

Yesterday We took out The Mike leun charter consisting of 6 of NY's Finest. We headed out to the 25 fathom fingers south of Moriches and found plenty of life with whales and birds working over bait pods. tons of sand eeels in the water. water temp was 64-65. we set up our slick and had action with bluesharks from 150-200 lbs. which were tagged and released . we had a school of bluefish invade our slick. they caught over 25 gator blues which we recycled into live baits and fillets. at 11am the short 25' rod gets nailed. i set the hook and gave the rod to jack who did a great job fighting a 150 class mako. he almost had it within gaffing range when it spit the hook! bummer! They are out there!
P.S. We have open dates this month if anyone is interested in joining us.
tight lines!

Just the two bluesharks.
7hrs and we NEVER SAW A BOAT. Any boat.
wierd....

no charlie hooked on the troll home, although we saw two shapes free-jump in the slick which may have been school BFT

The makos are STILL off of MD. The just started filtering in off NJ.

Threshers should be there though.
