Also, what do you do for chum/bait. 5 gal frozen chum and a few bluefish do the trick?
    Thanks
It's pretty simple. I have just been using the store bought square 4 gallon buckets of pogie chum. Bluefish chum is better for attracting the makos and threshers but the pogie chum works fine for blue sharks. My spinning rods are set up with 80 pound braid mainlines. At the end of the mainline I tie a bimni twist. I then attach a 100-130 pound wind-on leader to my bimini using and offshore loop knot. At the end of the wind-on I tie the biggest snap swivel I can find. This serves two purposes. One , as a visual so the angler does not wind the single strand wire leader through and ruin the expensive guides and two as a good spot for the wire man to hang on to during the leadering process. Then I just attach a simple single stranded wire leader with a hook. A 4'-6' single strand leader works with most of the blue sharks you will come across. We did it again this past weekend and got another 10 to the boat and released.

You don't need bluefish for your hookbaits for blues, just toss about 3 or 4 mackeral hooked in the eye sockets on your hook...makes a nice smorgishborg (I think thats how you spell it). They can't resist.
