Jeez Steve, you really know how to hurt a guy! While you were on yer way to the edge, I was speaking to a couple hundred humorless engineers about design for manufacturability and assembly-RIVETING shit, really! Thx for the invite and please keep me in mind. See you out there...

Check gauges, look around for warning lights; check radar - oh S**t we're ON! WAKE UP!
Hahaha. Yep, that exact sequence of events happened on the first. Spooled off 3/4 of the reel. Guy at the helm finally blew the horn when he heard a "funny noise" Other guy on the bridge was laying on the couch and didn't hear it. You nailed that one. We ran 5 lines, no riggers all short. 3 bars with a couple old lures in behind the bars. We'll work on it. Thanks.

Hey Mark, next time. At least it's out of the way. If it helps, we were discussing proper crimping.

We had one small mako at night other than that all quiet. We where to far to make it when you guys called us. By the time we got there the yellow bite was over. Oh well its fishing. Bail job next time. We did get to see billy joel though while we where cleaning the boat. That was crazy he walked right down the dock. We are done chasing the water for a while next time its coming to us. That video on the marlin was killer.

We tend to follow suit on fuel

When we have been at it hard one little tidbit I picked up from LB was to begin trolling home for fuel conservation. We typically (if there is such a thing) at 7.5-8.0 kts depending on sea state and direction.
When we back her down to that speed we simply sip away and then bring em in and spank it home after a good troll northbound.

If I use LB's formulae then 8.72 would seem optimal. We were doing it more for fuel conservation then dollar savings but a stop at Menemsha is always good. We are also about 300 gallons lighter before we wind em up
