"Whale Wars" Group Sets Sights on European Tuna Fishermen

The same group that brought the world "Whale Wars" is now going after commercial tuna fishermen in the Mediterranean Sea.

Conservation Society Sea Shepherd will on Monday launch a "Blue Rage" campaign against the poaching of threatened bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean. The group's boat Steve Irwin arrived on Saturday in Malta, near where Greenpeace activists clashed on Friday with French commercial tuna fishing vessels.

Right or wrong, this show is probably not a good thing for tuna fishing on this side of the Atlantic. Discovery Channel will surely be airing this here and sparking extinction panic.

And you are right, the publicity they are getting for this 'operation' does us no favors. When they tell the public bluefin are 'racing towards extinction', that hurts us as much as the Euros and Africans.
