Molnar's Fluke Tournament
Good Friend Steve Boyd Invited me out in Shinny this weekend
We had a great catch of 30 plus Flukes
and placed 5th but no money in
Molnar's Fluke Shootout
Steve did some major recon the day before landing 6 Blue Fish
What's the big deal you say well it turned out to be the bait of choice.
See we use the Blue fish filets and cut them into strips
The Fluke couldn't stay away
We landed so many 20 plus inch Fluke it was crazy to release so many nice
big fat flukes
Ok so here's the coolest fluke story I ever witnessed
Dan Cooper hooked into a big Fluke and at the same time I hooked into a 18"
Fluke so Steve grabbed the net. I say that my fluke hit the teaser and was short so I held my fish up at the surface while I waited to see Dan's fish
OOOOOHHHH! I Yelled get the Net Get the Net!!!
and just as Steve went for the net the Big Fluke Shook the hook
at the same exact time my little fluke decided to make a dive and
headed back down to the bottom.
The Big Fluke see's my 1.5oz White/Green Blue Frog Buck Tail and
makes a bee line for it and
BAM I can't even reel the line anymore now I have the 2 fish on
Steve does a great job with the net and gets the big Fluke
She which we later found out wasn't getting away with those new big swing hooks
in her mouth she wasn't going NO WHERE!!!
We fished from 9am to 3pm and then went to Molnars
for the awards ceremony
the 1st place 7.5 lbs fluke winner walked away with $7,000
You know next year were entering that shootout for sure
Thanks Steve for the invite I had a great time!
Now for FATHER'S DAY
After getting a call from my good friend Paul Saturday afternoon
he said he found a huge pod of Bunker
west of Smith Point with Huge Bass on them.
He said he never saw a bass that size in his life.
He said he lost 2 over 50 lbs NO JOKE!!!
So of course Sunday Morning where to you think I was headed lol...
You guessed it west of Smith Point in search of Big Bass
I was on Chris's (Codi-Jones) Boat and we searched all over only to find a pod of Dolphins crashing bait right out of the water and Gannets diving but no fish???
We marked bait and tried every spot along the way along with my other good friend on his boat too.
Then the FOG came in thick and we all decided it was better to head in
and that's what we did.
I spend the afternoon at Pop's and we all enjoyed the Fresh Fluke and some Striper for Dinner
Thank You
