He's done a lot of tv work, and is one of the most instrumental figures in fisheries preservation in the newengland area. Considering the money involved in tuna seining, the concept might actually be worth taking a look at. There are some vids online documenting the harvesting of juvenile fish that will make your head spin

Very true, Cappy. I would suggest that anyone who has a few extra minutes should spend time sending letters to Congress and people like Rebecca Lent at NMFS, telling them to get serious at ICCAT and get Turkey and France and others to manage properly. While we all bicker at times on these sites, the fact of the matter is that we are all from the US and all catch tuna and so IMO we are on the same team.
Its going to be a long winter here, the fact is Commercial Fisherman buy gear, fuel, engines and boats with hard earned $$$ going towards the economy. Recreational fisherman do the same. I feel unless folks stick together and work towards getting EU contries to follow the rules we will not be here arguing. Also the newly ABTA is composed of recs, harpoon, general cat fisherman all fighting for the same thing. Lets play nice in the sand box together and work together.
I don't care if a highliner catches 50 fish in a year and makes a bundle or if a charter boat fishes every day landing fish on most trips sending home six anglers to split 70 lbs of steaks. Each their own and if you think the grass is greener on the other side, change your permit next year. Work together or die together, it is your choice.
Crazy chatter going on in this thread. Can I join the super secret giant killer club? Pretty Please? Is it anything like the Skull and Bones Club because that club seems cool? Any Freemasons willing to share intel on where they last bagged a giant would be lovely. I'll boogie to that spot at first light.
Like it or not the sharing of info on this board and others is not going to stop. People will continue to post the pics, and share the hot spots of the day. And I absolutely have no problem with this. That is what this message board is all about. People getting together to talk and learn about fishing.
I’m sorry Chris. I thought the internet and more specifically these sites were designed for fishermen to form networks and learn from each other. To share stories and tactics, provide reports and help others become better fishermen. That’s why I joined here. If you see that as me telling super secret giant bluefin tips or giving away a super secret spot then I guess I’m guilty. But you know what, I’ll still be able to sleep tonight knowing that some of my reports and some of the “super secret” techniques that I have posted about here and on other websites have made others better fishermen and helped many others catch their first tuna. I’m sorry I never received the memo about keeping secrets.
